Where MGN sits
Right-hand row, toward the back. Viva Bar is before it; KQ Bar and the stage are after it. Aces High is across the walkway. From a seat here the stage is close and the band has real presence, but you are one bar removed from the loudest spot in the complex.
That one-bar gap matters. MGN gets the music at a level where you enjoy every song and still talk across the table between them. Some people prefer it to being right on top of the speakers.
What a night here is like
MGN is the regulars’ bar of the complex. The same people sit in the same spots, and the staff have a reputation for remembering what you drank last time. Sit there twice and you are one of them. That is worth more than any décor, and it is why expats who live in Pattaya year-round end up here on ordinary weeknights.
On a Saturday in high season the back of the complex is full and MGN fills with it. On a rainy-season Wednesday it is a handful of familiar faces, the band, and a cold room. Both are good nights; they are just different nights.
Like every bar in the hall it is air-conditioned; the difference from next door is the seat, not the temperature.
Who it suits
People who like being recognised. Anyone staying more than a few nights. The close-to-the-stage-but-not-on-it seat. If you want the seats that run along the stage edge or a Guinness poured from a tap, both are one door further along: KQ Bar, the last bar on the right.
Next door
The bars in Las Vegas Beer Garden line one walkway from the Soi Diana entrance to the stage, all inside one air-conditioned hall. From MGN Bar you would walk past these next.
