Facing each other across the walkway near the entrance, with the music at background volume. Everyone who enters walks between them.

A slower pace and a chat

Full House Bar

Mid-complex, left side. Far enough from the stage that you can talk, close enough to catch the set.

Energy as the night builds

Viva Bar

Mid-complex, right side. It fills as the courtyard fills, and the crowd is part of the show.

Regulars' territory

MGN Bar

Right side toward the back. The staff remember faces; the same people sit in the same spots. Sit there twice and you're one of them.

Close to the stage but open-air

Aces High or Black Jack Bar

Left side, the last two before the stage. Full volume, warm night air, no glass between you and the band.

Seats right beside the stage

KQ Bar

Bar 10, right of the stage. The seating runs along the stage's edge — close enough to request a song and watch the band discuss it.

Real Guinness on draft

The only Guinness tap in the complex. Two-part pour, chilled line, glasses that have been rinsed properly.

Air-conditioning

The one enclosed bar. The other nine are open to the courtyard by design; on an April night that matters.

Screens behind the counter carry the sport, and when the band takes a break the game goes on.

How the complex is laid out

One open-air walkway runs from the Soi Diana entrance to the stage at the back, roughly eighty metres, with bars down both sides. Pocket Kings spans the entrance. Palace Bar (left) and The V Bar (right) face each other just inside. Full House (left) and Viva (right) hold the middle. Aces High (left), MGN (right) and Black Jack (left) bring you to the stage. KQ Bar is the last on the right, beside the stage, behind glass — the only bar with a door.

The staff at the front bars are quick, and most visitors are seated before they've seen the back. That's fine for a first drink. It's worth knowing that the walk to the stage takes about a minute, and that the three things people most often search for on the way here — a real pint of Guinness, a cold room, a seat beside the band — are all at the far end. Already inside and want to move?

Nobody minds. Finish your drink, walk toward the music, and pick again. If it's the Guinness, the aircon or the stage you're after, look right as you reach the band for the black-and-gold KQ sign. If it's a quieter drink you want, head back to the middle.
