Where Viva sits
Right-hand row, halfway along. The V Bar is behind you toward the entrance, MGN Bar and then KQ Bar are ahead toward the stage. Full House is opposite. You are in the middle of the courtyard with the stage in clear view down the walkway.
The sound here is fuller than at the front. Bass starts to register. The singer is a person on a stage rather than a voice in the distance. It is still a level you can talk over, but you will lean in for some of it.
What a night here is like
Viva takes its energy from the courtyard. Early on it is calm. As the walkway fills, from about nine, the crowd in front of the bar becomes part of the show, and the bar is at its best around eleven on a Friday or Saturday when the band is into its second set and the whole middle of the complex is moving.
Low season and weeknights are gentler. The same seat on a Wednesday in June gives you space, the band, and a cold room with nobody in it.
Like the rest of the hall it is air-conditioned. What separates it from KQ Bar two doors down is not the temperature but the seat: here you face the stage from the middle of the room; there you sit beside it.
Who it suits
People who want to feel a night build around them without being pressed against the stage. Groups. Anyone who likes the middle of a crowd. When you want to be beside the band rather than in front of it, walk two bars further along the same side: KQ Bar, on the right beside the stage.
